This vast arts and entertainment venue has undergone an extreme makeover for the past several years. One of the most innovative updates occurred with lighting replacements in the Fountain Room Suite.

Cost-Effective, Energy Efficient Illuminated Signs

The original system was quite innovative as it had individual halogen light fittings that changed colour via computer programming. The Pearce Signs’ electrical and installation teams devised a cost effective, low maintenance and energy efficient option for Barbican. Using energy efficient LED lighting systems, the new lighting installation matched the needs of the computer programmed colour change, while lowering the overall usage from 96 watts per unit to 22 watts across the 400 unit spans with a total savings of 29600 watts. Additional savings are recognised with the reduction of maintenance due to the extended bulb life of LEDs, and the low LED emissions support reduced carbon initiatives.
